Grade 2 listed cottage - South Norfolk

The problem...
Damp within the house. Patches of mildew on the walls and a damp smell throughout. Bubbling on interior paintwork.
Original wattle & daub had been removed and replaced with thermalite blocks.
Original lime render had been replaced with cement render which is not breathable.
A longstanding issue with a leaking pipe in the bathroom had caused rot within the beams and sole plate.

The solution...
Removal of cement render.
Removal of cement block infill.
Replace or repair damaged beams and sole plate.
Replace infill with hazel wattles and a clay/straw daub.
Lime render on the outside.
Lime plaster on the inside.
Shower was removed.
